Inspired by the above statement by Sheick Mohamed El-Ghazaly and my recent life experience:
Don’t wait; don’t wait for investment to get your business rolling; just do it ..
Don’t wait; don’t wait to relocate to live the lifestyle you want; shift your mind ..
Don’t wait; don’t wait for this special moment that will transform you spiritually; live it ..
Don’t wait; don’t wait for “credit” or “gratitude”; make it a part of the “deal” ..
Don’t wait; don’t wait to be understood and then respected; make it the only option ..
During July had been my first experience directly communicating with investors to raise funds for my business, I had been having my friend Karim from Easy-up do it for me and we already got 6 investors interested but per the regulation of the Nilex I needed 25 to incorporate based on the model we had been working on. But to accelerate things up, I had the chance to be in the position myself.
I consider the experience to be overall positive and I learned a lot from it. made a few mistakes; but normal for first timers I presume.
I did postpone launching the business web-site and start executing the business model till I get the funds I need – as I might need to optimize or even change the business model during negotiation , which put me in the position of doing “nothing” for the time I was mainly focused on raising the funds only.
Also role playing, looking at the situation from the investors’ point of view and asking myself the questions I’m expected to be asked during the meetings could have made a difference. Something I need to work on for upcoming opportunities. I don’t think I have a communication problem but during the meeting my mind is mainly filled with the details of the business model and I don’t have a ready- made answers to some questions to be asked, I just think it up and it might be rephrased better.
As a big fan of ReWork I completely believe in their point of view expressed in “Outside money is plan Z”. Yes, I wish I’d go forward with no outside money, but it’s just feels exhausting for a long time. ReWork state the following reasons on why to consider outside money your plan Z:
You give up control
“Cashing out” begins to trump building a quality business
Spending other people’s money is addictive
It’s usually a bad deal
Customers move down the totem pole
Raising money is incredibly distracting
I really believe in these points even stronger now, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t need plan Z sometimes.
What was your first experiences with raising funds? What tips would you advice a young entrepreneur to take into consideration while going through his first incorporation experience?
They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. they don’t want well informed, well educated people; that’s completely against their interest.
Last night, I was getting a bit depressed out of what’s going in the world, my country and my life. So, I posted on Twitter “I’m depressed .. say something uplifting” I have got various responses from people I know on Twitter but got one from someone I don’t know and it wasn’t a POT.
She was EleniHope who after reading her Twitter stream and FormSpring link there, I knew she is a 15 YO girl from Ohio who dedicated her time to searching Twitter for keyword “Depressed” and “I hate my life” and she goes into conversations with people to uplift their spirit and make them feel good again.
So, out of that simple gesture Eleni do on Twitter, late last night I started a site to get Tweets with words “Depressed” and “I hate my life” and will get similar words and combine them in a page, for people to get there and pick up a genuine conversation with these individuals and uplift there spirit.
The website is http://TweetHope.us and HashTag #TweetHope should be used to group people around the idea. I started a Facebook page and Twitter page for it, what do you guys think about the ideas and feasibility or expanding its use?
I’m starting or restarting to listen to an amazing series that helped me much in phases of my life, I wanted to make that restart long time ago, but things just worked out to b starting it just now.
This is a collection of ideas I posted on Twitter concerning the Israeli attack on the aid ship heading towards Gaza in international water, how should we conceive it and should something like that make us sad or depressed as some people seem to be getting?
Let’s be positive, Israel is digging its grave. Level of hatred towards it never reached that level since its existence, right?
From the vid I’ve seen the Israeli special forces are paper tigers, hiding from civilians in a laughable way.
So here is what happened, 20 something beautiful souls met their lord Shuhada in the paradise happily rejoicing
What a dignifying death to be killed getting supplies to the poor & after ur death ruin enemies reputation and wake ur friends up
The ugly face of Israel is getting more clear to the whole world, losing the PR efforts since their existence
Now, ain’t it getting hard to get moderate westerners to believe the Israeli PR crap and lose trust in their media? We’re winning #Flotilla
Didn’t people forget sometime about #Gaza and #Palestine ain’t#Flotilla a reminder to keep it in head & puts +ve pressure on us to support
Ain’t #Flotilla bringing people together? The Turks are getting closest to the Arabs/Muslims since the fall of Islamic Khilafa.
So, don’t be depressed, I think we’re perfectly entitled to celebrate that god hands are working in our favor
And yah, unfortunately, anger is temporary, real commitment and integrating the cause in our path in life is what really makes sense.
So, don’t get depressed. In the depth of the situation is benefits we might don’t see now, but if you have the eye to look to the future, you should really be seeing the end of this siege.
